This time of year we get lots of questions about how to defer a Marathon registration. This blog post includes directions, information and tips on how to manage your registration for the 2020 People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon. This post assumes that you have already registered for the marathon. You can not defer from relay.
Registration Deferring Basics
The deadline to defer your registration is May 10, 2020.
Deferrals are allowed only for those registered for the Marathon who have no purchased insurance. If you have purchased insurance and are not able to race you may be able to file a claim. Full details here.
Deferral deadline is 11:59pm on May 10, 2020.
Deferrals receive $40 off the 2021 Marathon registration fee.
All deferral, transfer and registration changes are made through RunSignup.com (see below).
Step by Step
Step 1: Log into your RunSignup Profile
There are two ways to do this. 1. Go to runsignup.com and log into your RunSignup profile; or, 2. Search your email and find the confirmation e-mail you received from RunSignup.com when you initially registered for the Vermont City Marathon. There is a link in this email for your profile.
Step 2: Upcoming Events
Find the 2020 People’s United Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay in your RunSignup Upcoming Events tab.
Step 3: Manage your Registration
Click the ‘Manage Registration’ link. (see below) This link can also be found in the confirmation e-mail you received shortly after you first registered for the event.
Step 4: Defer Registration
At the bottom of your registration information find and click on the ‘Defer Registration’ link. You will then be prompted to start the deferral process. Click the blue ‘Start Deferral’ button.
Step 5: Continue Through the Deferral Process
Follow the prompts and continue through deferral.
Next fall, when registration opens for 2021, you will receive an email from our registration director that includes a code for $40 off your marathon registration.
